Steam Machines will start hitting retail this November

4.7
Valve has set a release date for official Steam Machines, Steam Link and its Steam Controller.

GameStop, EB Games, Micromania, and GAME UK started taking pre-orders today and customers in the US who pre-order an Alienware Steam Machine, Steam Link, or Steam Controller from GameStop or Steam will receive their order on October 16, weeks before the official launch of November 10.

Alienware’s Steam Machines start at $449 and the price goes up per specs selected. The controllers will run you $50/€54 as will Steam Link.

Additionally, CyberPower is now taking pre-orders for its Steam Machine on the official website.

Other manufacturers will be releasing information about their pre-order and launch plans in the coming weeks.

UZl Rather build a pc instead. im certain this will give problems because is the first steam machines.

You would be much better off building your own PC aswell, more powerful and you can have whatever you want in it, with upgradability etc...

Alexyy They're a rip off as you could just build your own with better specs and just put steamos on it for free.

True, but on the other hand, these are pretty much game machines. So, you can have your computer to run programs and such while you can have one of these to play games. That's the reason why I'm getting one.

That's almost pointless, your PC can run games and programs at the same time anyway ?

You would be much better off investing your money into dual monitors imo.

But your computer can run games too? whats the difference? All I see is this being non superior to the PC which can also run games but do everything eslse.
