Lego's 'Minecraft' competitor is real and ready to download

4.6
Yes, those rumors of Lego building a direct competitor to Minecraft were true: meet Lego Worlds. The sandbox game has launched on Windows through Steam's Early Access program for $17, and promises to do more than just let you sculpt buildings and fight off critters. You can alter the terrain on a large scale, and access ready-made drivable vehicles (including dragons) to get around the procedurally generated landscape. Not too surprisingly, there's also a big tie-in with Lego's real-world plastic bricks. You can play using a handful of old-school and current Lego sets, and more are promised down the road. Don't be surprised if you're eventually buying digital blocks at the same time as their physical counterparts arrive.

Looks quite fun, obviously people will assume it's a copy and not like it though

Considering the majority of people who play Minecraft are Kids (no offense to anyone, I understand alot of adults still play it to) and Lego is a huge company which a lot of Kids know about, this could seriously be a big competitor to Minecraft. I'm excited to see how well this game will do if it does well.

UZl this might be popular for the first few weeks but then it'll die down. Everyone will go back to the original minecraft imo.

That's how it is with new games. Doesn't matter what genre. A new shooter can come out that is 3x better than CoD, but usually people migrate back because of various reasons. Sucks, but it's just the way it is.

Its just because games like CoD are original shooter games and have been here for so long and is really popular and people enjoy it that they would rather stay on it then go onto another different shooter.

This looks really cool but it won't ever be on the same level as Minecraft. Their too late and Minecraft is just too popular now.

Pryzel Minecraft is way too popular to be over taken in my opinion, it's about 2 years too late for lego.

there is just no way to overtake minecraft..

I hate minecraft so much. Maybe this game will be a nice sandbox game like when I used to play legos as a child.
