Sony introduces PS Plus Specials for exclusive members-only discounts

4.6
PS plus members have enjoyed the benefit of a couple of free titles each month, but Sony has finally put together a new scheme to offer exclusive deals and discounts, similar to Microsoft’s Xbox Live promotions.

In a blog post on Tuesday, Digital Distribution Manager Chieh Chen said “We’ve been listening to your feedback, and today I’m thrilled to announce PlayStation Plus Specials, our brand-new deals program offering exclusive discounts for PS Plus members on the newest games and add-ons. That’s right, these deals will be available to PS Plus members only.”

“In addition to the latest top titles at a sweet discount, these limited-time sale events will offer select DLC bundles exclusively to PS Plus members.”

The deals include Bloodborne and The Order: 1886 for 20% off along with discounted bundles from Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare and Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines.

Unfortunately the offer is US only at the moment, but hopefully we’ll see it roll out for other regions. If you’re in the US, you’re one lucky duck, and you’ve got until June 1 to take advantage of this week’s deals. You can peruse the listings below.

At least they have it right with new games. Xbox 360 just has old games and arcade games.

How much is PS Plus?

As an xbox user is it not just like buying gold...

RyujiTakasu So you pay extra to pay less???

Where's the logic in that?

You already pay for the PS plus if you are playing online. So I guess it's not paying "extra" it's just that sony is giving you more for what you are currently paying ;)

It will get people to buy PS Plus I assume, they will gain more out of people getting it and giving a small discount for games. They give these discounts, but nobody will buy all these games anyways.
