Rumored PS4 and Vita price drops won't happen

Last week, the rumors of a PS4 and Vita price drop were going around. The alleged price drops (PS4 $349 and Vita $89) were said to announce as soon as E3. Those who were hoping to get your hands on a new console for less, you're in for a letdown.

Sony announced that the above price drops anytime soon would be frivolous, silly and just plain foolish. These price drops will not be happening for very good reasons.

The PlayStation 4 has been selling great. Sony has sold 20.2 million units as of March 2015. The PS4 has outsold the Xbox One all but three months of this console generation. It's not quite the time for Sony to lower the price on the PS4.

As for the Vita, a drastic price drop for that will not be happening. The sales of Vita's are not strong, but a drastic change in the price would indicate that Sony is giving up on it.

Miss Sony is clearly in denial. That would not be foolish whatsoever, as it would put them at a competing price with their competitor. For the few people that don't want to spend $400 on one, this would be the way to get it. I hope, for the sake of them, that they're lying about this rumor not being true.

This is one of the stupidest things I've read in a while. The PS4 is still doing better than the One in total sales even though it's a measly $50 more expensive. They would basically be giving away free money at that point. If the stats start going in favor of Microsoft of course they'll look into a price drop, but it'd be moronic to do so before.

Now if you were talking about the Vita that is understandable. They claim to have not given up on it but they have. There will not be another AAA game made for the Vita and the only recent updates have been taking features away from the Vita instead of adding new ones.
