Former Call of Duty 4 and MW2 lead designer rejoins Infinity Ward

4.7
It looks like former Call of Duty lead designer Todd Alderman has returned to Activision's Infinity Ward studio. You may recall that Alderman was one of 38 members of the "Infinity Ward Employee Group" who sued Activision in early 2010 for $75 - $125 million for unpaid bonuses the group claimed it was owed for work on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Alderman later joined Infinity Ward co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella at their new studio, Titanfall maker Respawn. Alderman left the studio in 2012. His most recent stint was as a designer at League of Legends maker Riot Games.

according to a Polygon report, Alderman has rejoined Infinity Ward as its new project director and all the ill will between him and Activision has dissipated.

Alderman was lead designer on Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2 and left the company in 2010. Shortly thereafter he joined the then-newly formed Respawn Entertainment.

Could it be a remaster of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare 2? A petition to remake the fan-favorite CoD game recently gained a lot of traction on change.org, but unfortunately fan petitions don't always make it to the top of management, even if the number of signatures now exceeds 160,000.

I am assuming this decision was made from someone higher up at IW, most likely due to the petition being signed. Really hope to see something spectacular come out of Infinity Ward again.

Hopefully they do a remake

Hopefully the next game doesn't look so depressing and dull.

Josh This could be linked with making a CoD Collection for xbox one?

Also, I think this is great. Cod4 was by far the most realistic and best (before all the hax0rs)

I don't think one guy would make a huge change.

I'm shocked they took him back in. After losing 125m$ to him and 37 other people I would say no.

TH9 This is definitely coming from the MW2 remake bullshit, but MW2 isn't gonna be remade. Sorry to break it to you.

This is good though, Cod4 was almost as good as BO2

Wow Crap ops 2 is no where close to being as good as Cod 4 so you can stop with that garbage.

Guys, guys, can't we just agree that they're all terrible?

I agree with you! But CoD4 was good.

Well this looks delightful. CoD4 was by far the most fun.

GTXPlayer Let's be honest here. The games have been total shit since he, West and Zampella left the company. I'm not so sure the game would radically change is Todd joins back but if the other two were to join back, I'm sure we could get what we expected a long time ago.

I'd rank the games like this:

- World At War
- Black Ops
- Modern Warfare 2
- Advanced Warfare
- Black Ops 2
- Modern Warfare
- CoD 3
- CoD 2
- CoD 1
- Modern Warfare 3
- Ghosts

In all honesty, I think the game has well outlived it's life span. Advanced warfare was a good step in the series due to the big changes in how the game is played.

The company seriously need to stop pumping out the same shit and spend some time making a decent new IP.
