Purchasable “Advanced Supply Drops” coming to COD: Advanced Warfare
The studio plans to roll out the update in the near future, allowing players purchase these drops from the in-game store in addition to earning normal Supply Drops through regular play. Here’s what’s guaranteed to be inside every Advanced Supply Drop purchased:
Three items
At least one weapon variant
At least one Professional rarity item or better
All items come with their own Armory slot; all items can be redeemed for XP
Also inside is the chance to score unique cosmetic gear only found within Advanced Supply Drops, including the Eco Custom Exo, items from the Arctic Gear set, and more.
Players will be able to purchase drops in bundles of three, five, and ten, with “certain bundles including bonus drops,” says Sledgehammer. Purchase quantities will be limited as the update rolls out, though that limit will be removed after a few weeks. Pricing has yet to be announced, but we expect more updates shortly.
Advanced Supply Drops will be sold individually, or in bundles of three, five, and ten at $1.99, $5.99, $9.99, and $19.99, respectively, according to Activision. Advanced Supply Drops will also be awarded to players at ranks 20, 30, and 40, as well as after reaching a new Prestige level.
While the introduction of micro-transactions in Advanced Warfare might sound ‘pay 2 win’ to the ears of many, Sledgehammer Games promises that “Advanced Supply Drops are optional and do not affect the balance of gameplay.” What are your thoughts?

They already released this on Tuesday I believe. I bought some supply drops and I regret spending the money now. I think the prices they have now are too expensive, so I'm hoping they will eventually get lowered.

BOVModsTetProJimmyRustlerTetProJimmyRustler Micro transactions on a game that I paid $60 for is ridiculous to me. I have not problems buy DLC. Those are fine. They expand the game and make it playable for a bit more. However, I feel like they are defeating the point of getting supply drops if you can buy them. I think that Sledgehammers statement is false. It does create a slight mismatch in the balance of the game. Elite and special variants of guns have added bonuses (additional fire rate, attachments, ect) these make the weapon better in most cases.
Yet I bet you picked up the old CoDs. IE From Bo2 onward.
Not sure what you mean by that comment. I've played and owned Call of Duty since the first game. I'm a fan of the series that is why I don't agree with the micro transactions.
But yet you still went on and bought the games even though they have micro transactions.
>That's the point I was trying to make.
Because buying the game won't make them keep on doing micro-transactions. Buying the micro-transactions will.
Buying the game gives them money.
Buying Microtransactions gives them money.
Buying both gives double the money.

Oily Yay, Call of Duty is turning to a pay to win EA game now
Pretty much FIFA in a nutshell, huh?

The-Professor I would rather just earn of it. No need to rush and get things. Then it's no fun.
They will probably make it take forever to get one, only at levels 20, 30, and 40. Which means 3 per prestige. Or you can buy 3, level to 40. Get 6. That's the idea they're looking for.
