The first ever 20th Anniversary Edition PS4 could be back up for grabs

4.6
The winner of the top bid at last month’s 20th Anniversary PlayStation 4 auction failed to deliver, but Sony donated the amount to charity anyway.

Back in January, Sony offered a 20th Anniversary Edition PlayStation 4 with the serial number #00001 to the highest bidder. Sony promised to donate whatever amount it receives to charity.

According to DualShockers, Sony revealed today that the winner failed to deliver the amount, which has delayed the sale of that unit.

The unit with the #00001 serial number will be displayed at the firm’s showroom in Ginza, Tokyo, starting February 21.

As for the donation, Sony confirmed that it will donate the bid amount as promised. The money will go to Save the Children charity.

Aimi Why would anyone want to pay that much for a console? Do you know what kind of PC you could buy with that money?

Investment, trophy purposes. Anyone who has bought it, certainly won't be playing or opening it.

Over $20,000 for a PS4 console. That's just crazy talk. I'll just buy a new car. Something useful

At least the money is still going to charity and it could mean they could do another bid to make more money for charity.
