Xbox Live down: Xbox One and Xbox 360 affected

4.6
The friends list is currently unavailable to view on the Xbox Live home screen, with the Xbox Live Status page also confirming sign in issues on the Xbox 360.

An Xbox statement reads: "Hi Xbox members, are you having difficulties signing in to Xbox Live? Our team is investigating this right now. Thanks for your patience while we get this figured out.

"Are you having issues managing your profile or viewing your Friends' List? Our team is hard at work trying to get these issues fixed right now."

There were several listed issues connected with viewing the online state or activity of friends earlier in the week, with signing into Xbox Live and attempting to make new Xbox Live accounts also proving problematic.

UPDATE - The official Xbox website, which is currently running a sale on Xbox One and Xbox 360 games, is still available to use in the UK, while the majority of reported outages for online services are coming from US Xbox Live customers.

Users on Twitter are also reporting problems with the service in the US, with one fan writing: "Xbox Live Social Services and most of Xbox.com is still down... Wish I had an ETA for when it was back up."

Another tweeted: "Why is @Xbox live matchmaking down so often these days? I don’t get to play that much so it feels like it never works."

Feburary 18 02:55 UPDATE: The Xbox Live Status page currently directs to a runtime error message, a way round this is to view it in incognito mode on Chrome.

TH9 part of the reason I'm not a console peasant. PlayStation is just as shitty.

Oh yeah lets go with PC. High prices and just as much if not more technical problems and complications.

I'm just a casual gamer. No need for an over priced gaming rig when I can have a nice PS4 that will play games just the way I like them.

I know right? So expensive, a $400 gaming PC that performs like a $400 console.. It's so expensive. Thank god I went with the cheaper altenative of a PS4 where I have to pay $50 to play online, pay practically double for every game I buy etc. Not to mention, it's sooooo difficult to navigate Windows, which is intergrated into X1 ANYWAY. You're right dude XD

Take your PC and neck beard back to the basement. Unless my COD looks like Mario 8bit idgaf how many pixels are displayed on my screen compared to yours. People like me, who are in college or have other jobs besides updating Steam, play for fun. We also spend that extra 500 dollars on rent, or maybe a fun weekend. Don't start with me on PC gamers.

I have both systems. An Xbox One and a gaming rig. It's what we prefer. Console gamers may not like the controllers used for the PC and visa verse. Typical PC gamer always bashing on console gamers. "We have more memory, better graphics, etc."
The console plays the games just as good as the PC. I switch off to a 1080p TV and a 4k TV, and the 4k TV looks fantastic on the Xbox one. No complaints. We play to enjoy ourselves, relax, communicate with friends we play with, or compete with others online.
Naughty Dog has released some of the best action-adventure games of the last 10 years, and they're exclusive to PlayStation. You can't play Demon's Souls, Mario Galaxy, Last of Us, Trials HD, Valkyria Chronicles, or Journey on a PC. Some of those are my favorite games, and they keep me coming back. Unless you're huge into strategy games, PC games don't even come close with quality exclusives.

Diablo 3 for an example, is for the PC and console. But I prefer it for the console, it just feels better and feels more smooth and reaches my standards.

Let's face it: PC gaming and console game are two different things. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. Honestly, I'd argue they're so different that they're almost impossible to compare. Both attract a different kind of person entirely, but that doesn't make one better than the other.

Oh I'd just love to play my guitar hero is such better graphics...

http://www.extremetech.com/gaming/171158-can-you-build-a-gaming-pc-better-than-the-ps4-for-400

According to the article I linked you, if you tried building a console with a $400 budget that it would come close. But the PS4 still has a better advantage. The game prices are not doubled & $50 a year for online is not expensive (If you have a job).

Don't even get me started about upgrades...

I had a PC as a gaming platform for 5 years, and I found console to be much easier on me.
