CoD 2015 Will Be Developed By Treyarch Will Be ‘Loaded With Innovation’

4.6
During their Q4 2014 earnings call, video game publisher Activision confirmed the development of a Call of Duty game for late 2015 lead by the team at Treyarch.

While Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg was unable to share details during the call, he stressed that the title will be “loaded with innovation” and that it will be the first release for Treyarch on the franchise’s new three-year development cycle.

Treyarch gained traction with the Call of Duty audience with the launch of the WWII shooter, World at War, in 2008 and later went on to explore the Cold War with the release of Black Ops in 2010 and a near-future setting in Black Ops 2 in 2012.

Historically, we expect Activision to announced the first details on 2015′s Call of Duty this May.

Meanwhile, the studio shared its excitement on Twitter, hinting at the already ongoing conversation it is having with its fans.

GTXPlayer You can't really change CoD though. People say its the same every year, well it has to be it's CALL OF DUTY. Just like dying light and dead island. Different game 90% same thing. Look at GTA same game, just different map story and weapons and more improvement. Just like CoD. CoD is different every year, only thing thats the same is the same people who say "CoD sucks its the same every year. If you can't find a simple class you like, people complain.

With treyarch running it this year, I can ensure its going to be a great year.

Well, they did change Call of Duty, for what I hoped would be for the better. Turns out not, for me at least.

However there is noticeable difference between a good COD game and a shit one. Yes the formula has to stay the same, but you can change parts of the game which people don't take much note of, and still make drastic improvements. For example, the servers could be improved, and the gameplay balanced out more. There's still no excuse for the game to be use P2P servers at this point in time. The best selling franchise, and they don't have the decency to run the game on a reasonable structure. That's cheap. It has nothing to do with the Formula. Just pure laziness.

Ive been saying this shit for years lol. Like the same is happening with battlefield, same happened with counter strike, arma, and the list goes on and on and on.

Hopefully it will be BO3, I wouldn't want a WW2 type of game.

This person sums up everything I have to say. Props to you for not being a child and realizing if a franchise is completely changed, its no longer the franchise. So many idiots think CoD has to be completely changed. Take Skyrim for example. What if the next Elder Scrolls, it was first person only with giant purple people and guns. This would not be an Elder Scrolls game just because it has the title there. CoD is no different each year because in the end it is a CALL OF DUTY game.

I have loved all of Treyarch's games in the Call of Duty franchise, although I have been let down with the last two CoD releases, hopefully Treyarch will bring back the fun in the franchise and go back to WaW era.

TDK This is the part where we all tear apart game developers.....oh wait you guys are already doing that. CoD is just the same re-rolled crap with a different theme every year with added Zombies but games like Dying light etc and Dead Rising have Zombies covered so why don't they get back to basics and make a game we can all play and enjoy rather than playing out the same old crap every game release. But no point in discussing CoD with the huge amount of loyal fanboys etc because they cannot see past Call of Duty.

loaded with innovation

I say a lie detector test should be annual for these developers, a few days before the game is released xD

MASTER589419 better not be another future themed game for god sake

Ethics I hope that they base it on ww2 or something like that. I want a game like mw2, with the userbase that it used to have. No advanced warfare shite.

Knih
-Corgi I don't see why everyone wants a WWII CoD. That's so old and done with.

Everyone complains "CoD is the same every year!" Yet you're all crying for a CoD that's literally the same as another one.

Because most CoD players nowadays are the older generation that grew up with CoD 2 - 5 like myself. They're the 'classics' of the franchise and CoD 4/5 were the peak of their success. Every game they made after those just went downhill.

Everyone wants an old game back because it reminds them of the time CoD was good and fun with just the basics. None of this stupid stuff they have now with suits, lasers etc.

Before AW came out, everyone hated the idea of another WW2 CoD since it was done over and over, now that the "Future" has been used over and over everyone wants to go back.

Then you all complain the game is bad. I don't understand you guys?

Lel what? I don't think I've EVER seen anyone complain about a game going back a few eras. Everyone wanted them to do it.

Ever since say Mw3 onward, people hated the fact each game was jumping 20 - 80 years in the future and now we're with AW that set in like year 2050 or something and it's just dumb.

If Treyarch made the next cod more like WaW I'd purchase it, but the chances of that happening is slim.
