Halo 5: Guardians Beta week 2 adds new game type and maps

A post on Halo Waypoint stated that week 2 for Halo 5: Guardians Beta will see a new game type and new maps.

The new game type is Breakout, which is round-based and you only have one life each round. The first team to take five rounds wins the match. Two news maps will be added that you can play on, Crossfire and its variant, Trench.

Along with all of that, two new maps will be swapped into the Slayer playlist, Regret and Eden.

Regret is a remix of Truth, and Eden is a remix of Empire, both of which were included in week 1. Additionally, you voted, and we answered: You’ll be able to wield the Hydra MLRS, a brand-new weapon to the Halo universe, while slaying on Regret. - Halo Waypoint

Always going to miss Halo, used to love how well the multiplayers were balanced. It was just pure skil vs. pure skill - Halo 4 was the most unbalanced with those abilities, but one thing the multiplayer always got was community maps and lots of new game types! It's like they've never ditched a game type, and just added onto them! Wish Call of Duty would do something along those lines, although Halo isn't released yearly like CoD so I guess it makes a bit more sense for 343 to just add a massive choice of game modes and maps.

Thespian I have played Halo MCC a little and loved it but by the impressions of seeing videos and things like that it doesnt look to good to me. I will get the beta and try it out for myself.


same here, I will probably just play the beta though. I got bored of halo a long time ago.

Been playing this beta for about a day and all i got to say is im only getting it for the campaign. Had a few really good games, no deaths but i didnt enjoy it one bit. I have my reasons and i have to say I hate this beta with a passion. Love 343 to death for releasing Halo:MMC but this game... not impressed. My opinion.
