Merry Christmas. Xbox LIVE and PSN are down thanks to Lizard Squad

Did you get a brand new PlayStation 4 or Xbox One for Christmas? That's great and all, and I hoped you thanked Santa, but it looks like you're going to have some problems getting the most out of your brand new console right now.

According to numerous reports, both PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE are both down, suffering from connection issues believed to be related to DDoS attacks from the notorious hacker group Lizard Squad.

Neither Sony nor Microsoft have confirmed the DDoS attacks, but Sony has at least acknowledged the issues with PSN. The PlayStation Support site, however, says PSN is "online," but when we tested it we received error code "NW-31201-7."

Microsoft has finally acknowledged sign-in issues with Xbox LIVE on Xbox One and Xbox 360.

Trust me, you were lucky then. It was not an overstatement at all.

I have to agree. I tried using multiple bypass methods to get my internet to maybe hit an untouched server, with no luck at all. It's absurd. This is pretty damn big if you compare it to any past attack on servers before.

Earlier today mine was working fine then around 2pm (UK Time, GMT +0) it started running slow and the store and edit profile was down then matchmaking on games went down, its currently 11:05pm and its matchmaking and some stuff is not working properely

You know as well as any other PC gamer the only reason why CS/Dota/League is up at the moment is because they get a larger reaction from consoles.

When it comes to DDoS, Lord Gaben cannot save us either.

To say the least there hitting company's where it hurts most the consumers so cudo's to that (im 26 been off since 3pm gmt time) and still not online on my xb1 but 4 lzd sqaud to do this at crimbo with all the kids new consoles xb1 or ps4 is just wrong nuff said jokers out
