Far Cry 4 PC system requirements

4.6
PC players gearing up for the launch of Far Cry 4 in a few weeks will need an Intel Core i5-750 (2.6 GHz) or AMD Phenom II X4 955 (3.2 GHz) processor and 4 GB of memory. The game also required 30 GB of hard drive space and a video card at least as powerful as the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 or AMD Radeon HD5850 (1 GB of VRAM).

For optimal performance, Ubisoft recommends either the Intel Core i5-2400S (2.5 GHz) processor or the AMD FX-8350 (4.0 GHz) or better, as well as 8 GB of memory. The game will perform better with at least a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon R9 290X or better video card (with 2 GB of VRAM).

Far Cry 4 will also launch on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3 in addition to PC on November 18.

SEN Good Job Ubisoft..... To play a $60 Game at high setting we must spend $1000 on a PC!

My pc cost me 250 pounds and it will be running this game, do your reasearch kid.

LOL what does your laptop have? An i3 2.2 lol with integrated graphics? Good one kid your gonna be running this at the lowest setting

Nope I'm running a quad 2 core extreme @2.66GHz with an Nvidia GTX 560 Ti, may be old hardware but it still gets good rates on games. Don't call me a kid.

Well I'm sorry to break it to you but the GTX 560 TI is not for laptops.

1) He never said running on high/ultra which even for Farcry3 is difficult on pcs with great specs today.
2) I can give you 10 different builds that would run this game at medium-low settings for 500-750$ Price range. And a handful of builds to run it at low for only about 350$
3) The low settings on this game are what the consoles will get. Locked in at low graphics settings and 30fps just like every other console game made. so his low settings 40fps is still way better good sir.
4) How about YOU actually know something about computers before you jump on here and pretend to know what you're talking about with the whole "my parent's bought me this gaming computer for Christmas/birth day" Attitude.

5) Not a thousand bucks matey, more like 700 on the highend. Thats for running the game in something along the lines of 4k or higher than 1080p res. The R9 290x is a 4k graphics card and optimized for that. Having it for anything but 4k or 1440p is less efficient. Running the game on max settings with 1080p you can expect something along the lines of an intel i5 3550, FX 6300 - FX 8320 depending on OC, and an R9 280-280x or GTX 760. Any arrangement of a build along those lines should run the game at 50+ fps on High 1080p

Finally someone educated in the comments section, good to see you.

NotePosted:

I highly doubt an FX8350 is required to run this game for "optimal" performance.

The FX6300 should be plenty. In some cases, the FX6300 is better than the i5-2400S. (Checked several comparison sites)
I also assume it will only use roughly a max of 5GB RAM at one time - if you have 8GB.
The GPU sounds right, it'll need to render some pretty nice textures.

And no, you don't have to have a large amount of money to create a PC capable of playing on high settings. Do research, even ask for help on sites such as Tomshardware. Check guides on how to build PC's, then proceed on to happiness.

FriskyPanda You know what's great about consoles? You don't have to worry if your rig can run the games properly at a good fps lol. Sucks to suck
Fyi I do have Xbox one and a good pc so just letting these "pc master race" **** know they need to upgrade ahahahahahah

You do realize that anyone that built their PC in the last 3 years should have no problem running this. You only need to upgrade every 4 years or so. FYI, most don't consider 30fps to be good.

You have to love the ignorance that console players spew all over the internet lol. "You have to spend $2000 on a gaming PC in order to play". I built my PC about 3 years ago and it can easily max out all games that come out today.

Just starting out or upgrading? I'm to find a good and cheap PC but no luck. Where did you get yours from?

Don't buy prebuilt. Watch some youtube videos (i suggest linustechtips) to learn the basics of building a computer. Then go and find some decent hardware online and get it. You can build your own rig for about 15-20% less than buying one prebuilt. And in the future you almost always have more capacity for upgrading when it comes time to with a custom rig as you do buying one prebuilt in some factory in Taiwan. If you get stuck choosing parts feel free to ask people on the interwebs, you'll find a plethora of people more than willing to help!
