Assassin's Creed Unity is 900p, 30fps on PS4, Xbox One

Assassin's Creed Unity will render at 900p resolution and run at 30 frames-per-second on both PS4 and Xbox One, senior producer Vincent Pontbriand has revealed.

He explained that the game could run at "100 fps if it was just graphics", but not while managing the detailed AI processes that simulate the game's massive crowds and individual citizens.

"We were quickly bottlenecked by that and it was a bit frustrating, because we thought that this was going to be a tenfold improvement over everything AI-wise, and we realized it was going to be pretty hard," Pontbriand said. "It's not the number of polygons that affect the frame rate."

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag also ran at 900p and 30 frames-per-second on both systems when it launched last year. However, a post-launch update bumped the PS4 version's resolution up to 1080p.

The Assassin's Creed Unity's release date is November 11 in North America, November 13 in Europe and November 14 in the UK.

That is bad for Ubisoft. I would think one of there biggest games would at least be 60 fps.

I think it should at least be 60 FPS. But hey, if it looks good, and has a very good storyline, it shouldn't matter.

I've never really enjoyed any AC game, but c'mon, 30FPS? That's a joke. It seems we're taking a huge step backwards in gaming instead of moving forward which is disappointing.

DeluxeHazard Why are many top-seller games lacking the use of 1080p on these next generation consoles? It was a limitation on the current generation consoles but they cannot achieve them on the next generation consoles.

I expected to buy a next gen console for all the games to be amazing and run in 1080p, 90% of games aren't, which is pretty upsetting.

aden34 not sure why people have been buying this **** series? the series has just gotten worse since the first game.

AC = best

AC2 = just little bit behind the first

ACB= Not bad

ACR = boring

AC3 = had better hopes for what it turned out to be

AC4 = WTF is this ****?

I have to agree with you, i loved the first 2 and after that i didnt really have any interest.

Black flag i got with my xbox one and havent even completed 10% its so boring
