Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is now free to download for Xbox Live Gold subscribers as part of the Games with Gold offering.

Weighing in at 4.88 GB, the Xbox 360 title is normally priced at £14.99 / $19.99 on Microsoft's digital marketplace.

On October 16 it will be replaced by Darksiders 2, normally priced at £44.99/$49.99, which will be free to download until the end of the month.

On Xbox One in October, Crimson Dragon will remain free for a third month running, while side-scrolling shooter Super Time Force has been replaced with Chariot, the newest ID@Xbox game from Canadian developers Frima.

Games with gold is great. I got BC2 and Darksiders. Love them both.

Managed to pick up BC2, don't think I ever got into a game on it before I deleted it. Loved it back in the day though. Deals with Gold was a good idea by Microsoft though.

I love this Games with Goal deals. It is really good and they provide us with another great free game :D

These deals are actually fantastic on XB360. I hope they start doing some great deals on the XB1 soon.

I've downloaded this game thanks to the Games With Gold programme, however I doubt I will play it seeing as I'm not too big of a fan of the Battlefield series, however I may get a quick run through of the campaign before Advanced Warfare is released, just so I can bump up my GamerScore a little bit. The games being made available through the programme are getting better with more popular titles being introduced each month.

I noticed this was only Xbox 360 and not XB1 and wasn't very happy, its a pretty decent game.

If only this had happened a year or two ago when I actually paid $30 for this game.
I do see why it's free now though.

Next to nobody even plays it anymore. Maybe now the servers won't be so dead.

Erza What's wrong with the battlefield servers are they down?
