Any game that uses a Dualshock 4 will be compatible with PS4 SharePlay

4.6
Sony has shed some light on how it’s upcoming SharePlay will work, a feature that lets you remotely play a friend’s PS4 game even if you don’t own a copy.

Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studio, explained how it works in an interview with Weekly Famitsu, translated by Kotaku.

“How it works is, for example, say, a friend has a game that I don’t. I ask them to let me play it, and if they send me an invitation, I can access their PS4 and play while watching the video that is streamed,” said Yoshida. “You could call it a mini PlayStation Now.”

In the interview Yoshida insists that any game which is played with a DualShock 4 (i.e not a Play Room game) will be compatible with SharePlay. “There is no need for developers to do anything for their games to be compatible with SharePlay,” said Yoshida.

Players will also be able to save game data to their own account. So, for example, if you make it half way through a game via SharePlay before deciding to buy your own copy, you can pick up where you left off on your own console.

Due to its streaming nature, SharePlay means you wouldn’t be able to use your PS4 for something else while a friend is playing a game on it – you’re essentially handing them control of your system. So make sure it’s someone you trust!

SharePlay is coming with the 2.0 system update due for PS4 later this year.

Really like the shareplay idea, especially with the compatibility of Dualshock 4. Seems promising.

PS4 better than Xbox One is how I see it.

Doesn't seem like a very bright idea, going to need to be secured very well. :/

So they are basically having game company's lose money.

You do realize that MS came up with this idea right? Before everyone got up in arms about the have to play online thing they said they were going to implement a feature that would allow other to play your games.

I wish that both companies kept their DRM. People were scared of innovation.

Completely agree. We were held back an amazing next generation of consoles because the a loud minority is ignorant.

Whelp, I foresee an exploit of this essentially having people lose control of their consoles against their will. They're gonna have to really secure this.

Thank GOD I got an Xb1, don't have to worry about this nonsense.

You'll only be able too for 60 minutes, why not just buy GTA V it's a lot of fun.
