BBC iPlayer Xbox One app will launch "by the end of this year"

In a blog post that covered the status of BBC iPlayer across different connected TVs, the corporations executive product manager Marcus Parnwell took the opportunity to address a few of the most frequently asked questions he receives. One of these questions read thusly: "You said Xbox One was coming soon - any update there?"

To which Parnwell replied: "Yes. I am happy to announce that we're aiming to launch new BBC iPlayer on Xbox One by the end of this year."

I hadn't heard of it until now either. From what others are saying and what I read, it seems to be similar to Netflix. May be something to check out at least once.


Im guessing you're not from the uk? BBC is pretty much a uk thing. It is to catch up on all of the programs that have been aired on the BBC tv channels :)

In the uk there are many bbc tv channels and like this is the catch up thing of it
