Wii U system update released

4.7
Nintendo has released a new Wii U system update in Europe.

The company says the update makes "further improvements to overall system stability", while "other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience".

A Wii U system update released in July introduced the ability for users to transfer save data for software, Mii characters and user settings from one Wii U console to another.

June's Wii U system update added a quick start menu, in response to frustration expressed by console owners over the operating system's sluggishness.

In late July, Nintendo reported a loss for its first financial quarter despite an increase in Wii U sales during the three months ended June 2014.

Nintendo sold 510,000 Wii U consoles and 4.39 million Wii U games during the first quarter, representing a significant increase year-over-year and quarter-over quarter. It showed that, despite wider money issues, Wii U sales appear to be gaining momentum.

Mario Kart 8 was the company's top-selling Wii U game during the first quarter, shifting 2.82 million copies in just one month of availability following its May 30 release.

Lifetime Wii U hardware and software sales now stand at 6.68 million units and 36.67 million units respectively.

Wii U can be fun for a little then get boring after a few hours of playing it. But hopefully this update can change that.

I'm surprise these are still selling, they aren't that great to be honest.

I imagine it's most younger kids that play this thought, so it's understandable.

Gossip Hopefully it will make the system better for all 500 people who play it.

Haha I agree. It's one of those things where you like, meh. Then you kind of forget about it. Just like the Wii.
