Destiny Had Over 4 Million Players During its Beta

The Destiny beta was a beast, with Activision announcing today that 4,638,937 players participated in the early access stress test of the game launching September 9.

"Hosting a beta at this scale is an incredible feat, so we're thrilled to see the phenomenal response. But the beta is just a taste of what's to come," said Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg. "This is the biggest beta of this console generation by a wide margin and the largest console beta ever for a new video game IP to date."

That is a huge number especially for a beta, i can only imagine how many people the full game will have.

I knew there would be a lot of people playing it, especially since they made it an open beta at one point, but I had no idea there were this many people who played it. I think it was impressive that the beta worked great with that many people playing it. I am looking forward to getting the full game once it's released.

JRMH The game was not how I expected what-so-ever. I wish they'd expand MP. I stopped playing before I even learned of the competitive MP in the game, which was the reason I downloaded it to begin with. Great game, but not enough MP. :

Well there was 1 game mode and only 8 levels so what do you expect?

Stp They should of made it at least level 10 i got so much good stuff it was a great beta.


It was capped at level 8 for a reason.
one of the moon missions was level 10, some guns were level 10.
I guess they haven't finished some things that you can unlock past level 8 - hence the cap.
Level 8 was a decent level cap imo - they had accelerated leveling on which means you level up quicker; in the full release, it'll take longer to level up.
