Xbox One Doubles US Sales in June Thanks to Kinect-Less Console and E3

Tomorrow NPD will publish its sales data for the US market tomorrow, but apparently Microsoft decided to jump start them and publish its own stats today. According to Redmond’s company the Xbox One more than doubled its sales in June compared to May.

Microsoft attributes the increase in sales to “the new $399 offering” and “The amazing lineup of games announced during E3.” Interestingly, the lack of Kinect is never directly mentioned. It has become somewhat of a taboo in Microsoft’s official communication, but that’s marketing for you.
Looks like there’s still room for pitched competition this year, which is always a good thing. Tomorrow we’ll know if the Xbox One managed to overtake its arch-rival, at least for June. My money is on a very close result, one way or another.

I think when the console was first released we all said that if they got rid of the Kinect and lowered the price that they would double their sales which they did. I think that is so much better of a deal at $399, a lot more reasonable. Hopefully this cheaper console will boost their sales over then next quarters and boost it up a lot.

Now if they only allowed this option for the original release of the Xbox One. Id be $100 richer and much happier.

I knew the Xbox One sales would increase a lot now that you can buy it without the Kinect, but I wasn't expecting it to double the US sales in June. If they had an Xbox One without the Kinect at the launch of the console I would have definitely bought that.

Clearly you have a very short memory. Xbox E3 was nothing but games, nobody is expected to like every game but to say FH2 was the only good game is just bad judgement. Off the top of my head I can remember a number of great titles ie Crackdown, Halo 5, Scalebound, Fable Legends and so on.

Where did you get that from? Halo masterchief collection is an upgrade of halo 1,2,3 and 4. All the other big games are all new, did you even watch the e3 show of Microsoft?

You literally just took the information he gave you and disregarded all except the Halo Master Chief Collection. Let me help you out. The other games aren't remakes you derp, they're sequels. So your remake argument only holds true for one game, and even that is barely holding up. The remake has so much of an upgrade just calling it a remake isn't doing it any justice.

I'm glad i got the xbox one without kinect now i just have to wait for the master chief collection.
