Destiny Will Hit 1080p and 30FPS on Xbox One Following Latest Back-End

4.5
Developer Bungie aims to bring Destiny up to a 1080p resolution output on the Xbox One following the release of the console’s latest software development kit.

It will still run at 30 frames-per-second, but the boost in resolution is reportedly attributed to the 10% increase in GPU power since last week’s back-end update on Microsoft’s console, Geoff Keighley was able to find out:

After @xboxp3 interview I've been asking devs about impact of new Xbox sdk on perf. Bungie says it will get Destiny to 1080p/30fps on XB1.

It’s not clear what sort of performance milestones Bungie was aiming for before the update, but it is clear that the GPU power initially reserved for the Xbox One’s Kinect sensor will now help boost the game’s pixel count on the console instead.

Miss Why can't it be 60fps?! Not a fan of the same fps as 360.

What's it matter 30 FPS or 60 FPS? You can barely tell a difference. The gameplay will still be very smooth, as long as they lock it at 30 FPS.

Exactly. You cannot tell the difference between 30 fps and 60 fps while playing.

Destiny looks like a really good game and the graphics also look great.

The trailer looks really good. I can't wait to get this, and I got a beta code once it comes out so that should be awesome.

Same. I saw that Forza Horizon 2 will also be 30 fps.

From that last trailer the game fell in stock. It looked better at last year's e3.

slapshot101 This looks like it is going to be a very good game. I am really surprised about how many new games that are coming out for the Xbox One that are running 1080p and 30fps and not 60fps. It's really making me question the processing power of the Xbox One when the PS4 on almost all the games I have seen are running at 60fps. I guess this choice to free up that 10% was a really good idea because I don't want to think of a game like destiny at only 720p.
Lol, Ps4 runs 1080p 30 fps.

Both consoles run this game at 1080p, 30fps.
