PS4 to receive YouTube uploading this year

Sony Computer Entertainment America CEO Shawn Layden introduced the eagerly anticipated new sharing feature for the system.

"With a simple press of the DualShock 4 share button," Layden said, PS4 gamers can quickly upload captured footage to their YouTube channels.

Layden also noted that 95 percent of all PS4 systems are connected to the internet, and that the DualShock 4 controller's Share button has been pressed more than 220 million times already.

Not bad.. this should make the creation of content much easier for people wanting to start up a youtube channel

-Mark This is a great feature and I am sure it will make a lot of gamers happy. I tried uploading a video to Youtube on my Xbox One once but it was a pain since I had to upload it to my OneDrive, download it on my PC, then upload it to my YouTube channel.

I am not really sure though if the Xbox One can do this yet too but I do remember reading something about it.

Yeah that got added a couple of months ago I believe. Its supposed to be quite good actually.

vWatsonc That's Pretty cool I wonder how the quality will be and if you will need a certain upload speed ?

I am assuming the quality will be that of what the PS4 records in, so 720p? As far as upload speed goes you'd want a good one because files can get big at that quality.

Sounds really useful, glad they are adding this!

That's a really cool feature, one thing though is you won't be able to add an intro or edit the videos, but still it's a great feature.

Its kind of cool, but people usually wanna edit their footage before they upload it.
