Microsoft announces Surface Pro 3 tablet

Microsoft has announced a new Surface tablet designed to "take away the conflict" between choosing a laptop or tablet available for purchase starting Tuesday.

TechRadar reports the Surface Pro 3 has a 12-inch screen, the largest yet in Microsoft's line of tablet computers, with a 2160x1440 resolution. It's 9.1mm thick and weighs 800 grams.

"This is the tablet that can replace your laptop," Microsoft's Panos Panay said.

The highest-end model of the Surface Pro 3 uses an Intel Core i7 processor, giving it 10 percent better performance than Surface Pro 2. It will launch with three models - Core i3, Core i5, and Core i7 - starting at $799.

The tablet will have greater battery life than previous Surface Pro models and USB 3.0 inputs, and its own line of thinner typing covers. It will also come with a range of docks, up to 4K resolution output, and pens for use on the touch screen.

I personally don't like the tablets created by Microsoft. I am a fan of androids also

2025 This won't even be competition for the next iPad.

I totally agree, the surface tables will never complete with apple tables even though they try to market them as computers so they don't have to have both a tablet and computer. I personally think tablets are on a different level and there is so much things I can do on a computer that I can NOT do on a tablet.

Not a huge fan of tablets but if I did buy one it would either be a microsoft or android. I just hate the W8 tabs style :(

Mainly these are just for apps and web browsing.


Just the same as an iPad really, just another way of making money


It's designed to replace your laptop, in other words do everything your laptop can do just in a small package

I would highly recommend an iPad over something like this. These tablets suck.
