Xbox One digital games pre-loading still planned

4.5
Microsoft remains keen to introduce support for pre-loading digital games on Xbox One.

Responding to calls for the feature to be introduced on Microsoft's new console, Xbox Live director of programming Larry 'Major Nelson' Hyrb said on Reddit: "All I can say right now is that yes, we want this feature as well."

Former Xbox exec Mark Whitten said in September 2013 that the feature would be supported on Xbox One in the future, but that it wouldn't be ready for the console's November launch.

The most recent PS4 update, released on Wednesday, introduced automatic downloading for pre-ordered games, meaning they're ready to play as soon as the title launches.

Hryb also said on Reddit last month that support for Xbox One external game storage will be introduced in the near future.

April's Xbox One update added new game save features and friend notifications, plus improved Kinect and game DVR functionality.

Sanctorum I'm going to stick with physical copies of games for the time being. There's just something better about having a physical copy of the game that I prefer.

yeah but one advantage of having games on console is you dont have to worry about it getting scratched

also the fact that you can easily snap to what game you want to play at will without having to put in another disc

I 100% agree with you. Couldn't have said it better myself.

-LOST- I can see this getting exploited somehow. People downloading early may end up in leaked files.

I doubt it, knowing MS they'll do everything in their power to ensure that doesn't happen. They're not Sony.

MS has had many exploits aswell. No one is invincible to these things, it's inevitable.

yeah there will be an exploit i can see it already

Agreed, there's always a way!
