Facebook removing messaging from main mobile apps

4.1
Facebook has revealed that it is opting to completely remove the messaging portion from their main mobile applications. What this means for users is being forced into using two separate applications to actually use Facebook in a meaningful manner. At the moment our sources only indicate that iOS and Android users are slated to receive these changes while both Windows Phone and tablet users will continue to enjoy messaging in the base Facebook application.

Is this just for the app?

If so, I'll just carry on using safari.

I deleted my Facebook long ago for many reasons. Mainly because I think its a waste of time. Also because I prefer talking with people in person. I believe that is the only way to have a tru social life.

Good, I really didn't understand the point of the messenger app so hopefully it will get some use as of now.

Miss That's a pretty dumb move in my opinion. A lot of people still use the messaging part of it, why would they just get rid of it. This is probably going to get a lot of bad reviews.

I agree with you it's such an important feature.

702 I deleted my facebook. I prefer face to face conversations.

Easy for some, I have pretty bad Anxiety etc So talking face to face just isn't that easy. Facebook made having a social life a little bit easier for me

If you work on it it'll get better, not working on it will just continue to leave it at the point that it is at.

llbenll Well right now i'm glad i'm apple, if you get the messenger app on android it can see your text messages.

It can see your text messages?!?! That is really weird and I havent heard that at all.

Facebook can see all of your private messages if they wish on any platform... the admins on here could... it's just a thing that companies do to keep the network 'safe'

They mean messages from SMS(Texting), not Facebook messages.

Many, if not all apps push the limit on permissions and try to read as much info as possible about all of its users.
