Start menu due to make much awaited return in Windows 8.1 update

4.7
When Windows 8 first rolled onto the scene many users were bamboozled with the removal of the start menu but now they can rejoice. In a upcoming update to Windows 8.1 the start menu will be returning contrary to recent murmurs that it would take until Windows 9 to make it's return. A additional tweak in the future update will be the ability for users to run modern applications in a windows environment as opposed to only metro.

How do you feel about the start menu making a return?

R33 when you get used to windows 8 you dont really need the start button all you have to do is swipe left and press search,

yeah the start button is handy because it has being in every windows os but its not needed in windows 8 from personal experience that is

People just complain because they're used to a Start Menu and now they have to adjust to a new interface so I can see why people complained.

It's extremely easy though. I prefer Windows 8 over 7.

I love that they are bringing back the start menu when it shouldn't have been gone in the 1st place. Nice call Microsoft :D

Its like Windows have a pattern. Develop one good os (XP) then a shit one (vista) then a good one (7) and a shit one (8), So hopefully 9 will be good :-)
