Warner Bros set to invest $18 million in Machinima

4.1
Machinima has secured $18 million in funding from Warner Brothers according to their executive vice president of strategy and business development, Thomas Gewecke. Warner Brothers released that they felt Machinima was a "pioneer and category leader" concerning YouTube while they regarded the media company as impressive as a distribution partner. The last major investment into Machinima was in 2012 when Google dumped $35 million into the company but following this Machinima failed to secure stability. The game plan following the recent Warner Brothers investment is a strategic play involving their Infinite Crisis MOBA.

I used to watch Machinima back like when Modern Warfare 2 was released. And now looking at them nowadays, it's a bit crazy. They have came a long way.

I guess it makes since Machinima reaches a lot of people daily and they are a good well built company. I think this was a positive for them both.

That's actually not a lot of money being invested compared to other companies who 8 vest hundreds of millions.

I don't really understand where WB are coming from with this investment. That being said i don't think it is a bad one. Machinima are a well structured company and that money will not go to waste.

Bagged That's crazy, they're getting so much money.

Warner Bros have more than enough money .. They will know what they are doing, 18 million would not just be wasted by them

I support machinima and am a big fan, but I don't think 18 million is too much.
