Microsoft "looking into" Xbox One headset adapter complaints

4.6
Microsoft has acknowledged complaints from gamers using their recently released Xbox One headset adapter, these various issues seem to stem from voice chat functionality on some older headsets. The official Xbox forums and other gaming hubs have been littered with complaints regarding the adapter, the bulk of these issues involve older Turtle Beach and Astro headsets. The various user reports declare that both in-game audio and Skype call work just fine, yet distortion is experience in party chat.

We've heard about a small number of users experiencing intermittent issues. We're actively investigating and are working on a resolution.Microsoft

The Xbox One headset adapter was released this month in order to facilitate Xbox One gamers to utilize their Xbox 360 headsets with their new Xbox console. The device can be purchased from most major retailers for $24.99.

it isnt hard to make a working adapter people like myself have already made a homemade one that works 100% better with no large peice sticking out of the controller

I don't get why didn't just release a normal headset along with the system like they did with the 360. Would have avoided all these problems.

So many idiots comment here. The cost to make the console they're selling was found to be like 480 dollars.
Second, the new input for audio/chat gives better audio quality.
I got a turtle beach XO seven yesterday and it's apparent how much better it sounds than my X11 on my 360.

Plus..I don't even understand the technology tbh. I was prepared to plug in something to the back of my xbox and run a cord and blah blah blah but that isn't even needed. The xbox must transmit the game audio wirelessly to the controller because this new TB is a one plug solution. Same exact setup as the headset that comes with the xbox one...one cord from it to the controller.

Needeless to say, I'm happy.

YhCHKN I don't see why they couldn't just have the same mic input as the 360 controller.
Just to make more money? Pathetic.

Exactly. The 360 one was perfect.

It seems like they just over complicate a lot of things when it comes to the next gen.

While trying to make them seem more advanced they break them and make them more flawed.

You do not understand at all. The whole change was done to increase the chat quality, which could not have happened if the same old design had been kept. If you get a new console, it is basically expected to have to purchase a new headset for it, not to use an obsolete one.

The whole reason the reason they changed it is because they saw an opportunity to make more money off the thousands of people who have last gen headsets

I'm sorry i didn't know they started a business and made products to not make money

They are selling consoles at half a grand of course they have already made money, they did not need to do this they are just money Wh0res

Kola I keep hearing a random crackling sound in my headset ever since i updated my controller with the adapter..

It most likely is the wire or so or simply just the connectivity, I know if you have the wired controller and if you plug in a mic it will make that buzzing sound.
