The Witcher 3 pushed back to 2015

4.6
CD Projekt RED, the mind behind the Witch series, have let us know that they intend to delay the launch of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt until around February 2015. The title was originally expected to drop prior to years end 2014. The developer went on to detail why exactly the title was being pushed back, they felt that due to the ambitious goals regarding this game it needed more time to mature.

We recently reexamined what we had achieved thus far, and faced a choice about the game's final release date.

We recently reexamined what we had achieved thus far, and faced a choice about the game's final release date," it said in the release. The decision we made was difficult, thoroughly considered, and ultimately clear and obvious. We could have released the game towards the end of this year as we had initially planned. Yet we concluded that a few additional months will let us achieve the quality that will satisfy us, the quality gamers expect from us. Consequently, we have set the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for February 2015.

We know many of you would have liked to play The Witcher 3 sooner, as soon as possible, even. We're sorry to make you wait longer than you, or we, initially assumed you would. At the same time, we believe the game will prove to be worth the wait and meet the expectations you have of us. We believe The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be an exceptional RPG, one of the best, providing many hours of wonderful entertainment.CD Projekt

The Witcher 3 is being developed using the studio's custom RedEngine 3, it is expected to release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One in February 2015.

not at all. Would you rather have a unfinsihed game that is rushed or a quality game. All you do is right random crap on these to get your comments/posts up.

BTW: An unfinished game that is released sooner is better if updates are released later, like GTA V.

that is absolutely false from any view, except that of a person who doesn't care about quality but will complain about bugs. This would hurt long term sales aswell as intial sales from bad reviews. People would play it and say its broken then possibly never play it again.

That is not the case at all with GTA V. It was released without being completely finished, but it still has a massive player base and had the most successful launch ever. If a game is highly anticipated, it will be successful, regardless of it being completely finished or not. Playable is all that really matters. It also explains why so many games on Steam that are released in Alpha or Beta stages do so well.

Of course GTA V would be successful it was the most hyped game and it only comes around every 5 years. Even tho it is unfinished people would still buy it because of the title.

YhCHKN At least it's being released in Q1 and not Q4!

Q1 = First quarter of the year.

Well it is still a long wait like nearly a year wait, which is pretty outrageous.
