Rentable Battlefield 4 servers on the way for consoles

Committed Battlefield 4 players will soon be able to rent their own dedicated servers to power online multiplayer matches on consoles, Electronic Arts announced.

"Indeed, it is coming," Battlelog manager "EA_Stiv" confirmed in response to a user question regarding rented servers on the PlayStation 4. "I'm afraid we don't have any information on this quite yet, but it is coming soon! Keep your eyes peeled on the Control Room and Battlefield blog, as those are most likely where you'll see it announced first."


Electronic Arts previously hosted a server-rental service for Battlefield 3, leading to public server shortages as rentals exceeded anticipated demand. An implementation date for Battlefield 4's server rental service has not been announced.

Renting a server is expensive though. But it's still a nice thing that consoles get the chance.

Hour long games seemed to bore me too be honest, I just thought they lasted too long.


They are long in deed, but wasn't boring at all. I used to play hours on.

I did this on BF3 needless to say no one joined so it wasnt worth my money.

You either have crap internet or you live in a really far away country?


Or it is just his ISP that is not sending enough bandwidth to cover the Xbox network support.

Thlack It would be really cool if you could pick your own host too. Sort of like how it is on Minecraft. You would be paying for it but at the same time you would have better servers than those of which are used for the game.


I remember Battlefield 3 servers every game was laggy for me, I hope it is better this time I might get the game and try it out soon.
