GameStop hikes price on PS4 Camera amid supposed 'high demand'

GameStop, US game retailer, has recently added a $10 markup to its remaining supply of PlayStation 4 Camera as supposed demand outgrows supply. The product normally retails for $59.99 and has been honored by most outlets since the console's launch but it seems GameStop had different ideas when they listed the product for $69.99. Sony has avoided commenting with exact sales figures or even opening up to offer an explanation for the obvious supply shortage of PS4 Cameras.

While we do not comment on the sales figures, shipment or monthly production quantity, PlayStation Camera remains in high demand.Sony

It's not a fact that there a large amount of 1080p PS4 games that are 720p on the Xbox One? That is definite fact. There are a multitude of reasons for this, weaker GPU, Dev kits received late by Devs, Kinect using up resources ect.
But you cant possibly say the resolution differences are not a fact.

Both consoles are capable of 1080p and 60fps. Guaranteed.
Yes, Kinect uses resources. CPU's are identical, and the GPU's are also identical, except Xbox One has 12 CUs and PS4 has 18 CUs.
It is no where near 50% better as a whole. You're exaggerating. Let's say roughly 5%.
By the way, I have neither console. So I'm not being a "Fan boy".

lilrichard22 Isn't this why a lot of people bought a PS4? So people wouldn't have to spend extra money on a camera they wouldn't use? Why would it be on high demand?

A lot of people bought it due to Microsoft's DRM fiasco. It's also the stronger console, and it's cheaper.

It actually is though, by about 50%. It's already been seen in games (1080p on PS4 vs 720p on the Xbox One or Tomb Raider 60fps on PS4 vs 30fps on the Xbox One).

Yes I will. It's the fact that you've brought up something completely irrelevant to the damn news post, and will spark arguments on here and from every news post I've seen you comment on, it's something to do with the PS4 being superior, which is why I feel bad for you.

Honestly I think we all could admit that these newer consoles have too many features for just being a main gaming console. I honestly don't know why they can't make it just simple like the PS2 or the Original Xbox, they were perfect, they didn't have stupid webcam like cameras (that spied on people that were sleeping) and they didn't come with all these stupid features that just make the console overpriced.
