"Black Screen" issue arises from latest Xbox One System Update

4.6
In their most recent system update for the Xbox One Microsoft has inadvertently added a pretty nasty bug which disables the video for you console with a single button press.

According to games via reddit and other various outlets, we have multiple reports of screens just going black after pressing the Xbox button to access the home screen. This effectively disables all video from the system, the only way to fix this is to perform a hard reset or manually remove the power cable from the unit.

Microsoft is aware of this issues as seen via their twitter support account.

Have you experienced this issue since the update?

Yes this happended to me, and continues to happen. Powering of as suggested does not work and unless I pull the power out from the back for at least 30 seconds it just starts up black or with a 1-2 min delay in start up.

Lucky this note of them knowing about the issue came up as I was ready to return my Xbone.

Which on that note is drawing closer as the continued lack of support from Microsoft by never return my email in regards to the issue and every game being 20% behind the competitor in PS4.

Yet another game come out as 1080p for Sony and Microsoft can only manage a 900p Lag or less in the competition.

Hopefully they can get this fixed for all you One users.

7up they are really screwing up the xbox!

Stuff like this happens all the time with patches, you fix one thing and you cause another. It's not like Microsoft are the first people to do it, Sony has it's fair share of issues.

I don't know why you automatically had to assume this guy owned a Playstation from the comment he made? Lol, you're just begging to start a console war.

On topic, I hope this gets fixed soon... I hope I don't come across this problem.

I love how one small issue and everyone goes crazy. I have 108 friends online now and this isn't a huge huge problem. Obviously Microsoft will fix it quickly.

Xbox isn't "losing it" or "messing up".

Also atleast you fix it temporarily by resetting. Its not "other consoles" that brick.

Happend to me trying to go home and check the time while playing titanfall, wasn't a big deal, just needed a hard restart.

ORLY?

It's obviously not a widespread issue and they're aware of it and are most likely working to fix it right now.

Please take your delightful comments elsewhere.
