Microsoft to sell black & purple Xbox 360 chrome controllers in March

Microsoft has announced two new chrome controllers for Xbox 360, coming in black and purple flavours.

Microsoft’s Larry ‘Major Nelson’ Hryb revealed the pads over on his blog last night.

Hryb confirmed that the controllers feature a “transforming d-pad” and will launch in March at $54.99. They’ll be available exclusively at US Best Buy stores and the Microsoft store. There’s currently no word on a wider European release.

I think that these controllers are cool and all but they are a long time coming. Most custom controllers sellers have things like this for year not to mention the add a lot of other cool feature to them. Maybe if Microsoft added some different color LEDs or changed more then just the faceplate, more people would want to spend their money on them.

A lot of people like to have nice looking controllers and things like that. That's why custom controllers are so popular.

I don't really see any point in these, the black one is the only appealing version in my opinion, and to only have it available in the US? Honestly, what is the point?
