Call of Duty now on three year development cycle

3.9
Activision has released that it will be moving the CoD series to a three year development cycle instead of two.

While this still means a new CoD entry each year it *should* allow much more time for the respective devs to fully develop their CoD. One would imagine their hope in this strategy change is to foster more innovation while allowing further care of previously released games in the form of better crafted DLC.

"Sledgehammer is a triple-A studio built from the ground-up around prudent talent with a 90-plus-rated pedigree both in studio leadership and throughout the organization.

They demonstrated their skill on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and on their past high-rated games. They're the perfect choice to support our new approach and bring fresh ideas and creativity to this great franchise, and to raise the bar for next-gen games overall.

Do you guys know that an extra year could mean ALOT. Instead of rushing and having a poo Call of Duty, I think there will be major improvements!

Rolls-Royce Yay! Time to wait for a another sh*tty COD: Ghosts 2 to come out! Trying to get to Battlefield standards now Activision, eh?

your joking right, CoD has always been better the battlefield

Call of duty is bigger than battlefield I do not understand why your slagging it off.

EA is a way bigger company. Their game development is so much more complex than **** Call of Duty's broke games.

if we are talking about companies i think that 2 now 3 companies make up the call of duty franchise now

lol i do hope your not implying ea are a good company, one of the worst in the games industry
hey now... lets not forget the awesome job done with BF4... its not like EA had to stop development for some games like ME2, too try and fix the mess that BF4 has.

EA has a lot more on their plate than any Call of Duty dev, that's for sure.

Axe Did it say that they are still releasing a cod every year? I guess that they will be working on it for longer. Hopefully they can revive the series, because I honestly have lost all interest in cod as it is now.

yes cod has gone very boring and repetitive, it's a shame they can't revive and bring the excitement and joy cod4, and mw2 gave us.
