Call of Duty now on three year development cycle

3.9
Activision has released that it will be moving the CoD series to a three year development cycle instead of two.

While this still means a new CoD entry each year it *should* allow much more time for the respective devs to fully develop their CoD. One would imagine their hope in this strategy change is to foster more innovation while allowing further care of previously released games in the form of better crafted DLC.

"Sledgehammer is a triple-A studio built from the ground-up around prudent talent with a 90-plus-rated pedigree both in studio leadership and throughout the organization.

They demonstrated their skill on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and on their past high-rated games. They're the perfect choice to support our new approach and bring fresh ideas and creativity to this great franchise, and to raise the bar for next-gen games overall.

iburnleyJTAG we might actually get a game worth playing now... no more hacked leaderboards weeks before release or stupid spawns... MW2 was the best but each game is ok i suppose, if they changed it up too much people would not buy it... the ease of playing and the familiar feel is what sells cod every year.. with cod you are assured of a playable game that appeals to all ages

Can't guarantee no hacks by any means.
they should be able to guarantee a game with fresh leaderboards, if they cant even do that then why buy it?? i was 10th prestige 3 days before release and in the top 400 players... how is that even fair?? some people would have got it for christmas and looked up the leaderboards to see the 1st what 3000 players all on modded scores.... its the things like this that either make or break agame

I have one thing to say, if semtex/frags/nades are as weak as Mw3's & Ghosts it will be shit!

Might consider buying it now since they are putting more time into it

iLogey I don't really get it. So it will be Infinity Ward, Treyarch and Sledgehammer developing Call of Duty now?

Yes, that's right! It will be Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer and Treyarch.

Activated Hopefully CoD becomes better now,if not then they might as well just quit making it

They'll never quit... To much money in it to quit.

Its true i think cod only care about the single player that what i think

You think incorrectly. The campaigns, since MW2 have been poorly planned and executed. The real money is in multiplayer, where players purchase map packs. They seem to shoot more for multiplayer, but screw up both because they go too fast.

Come on TTG, get with it with the news! (just kidding obviously) but I heard about this a while ago. not really big news other than I will expect significantly better games from this series if I am going to continue to buy them.
