Bethesda may be planning to release The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on Xbox One and PS4

OnlySP captured a screenshot of Bethesda's Skyrim website showing next-gen versions of the game listed alongside the existing Xbox 360, PS3 and PC editions.

It's unclear if the listing, which has since been removed, was an error or an inadvertent early reveal, but we've contacted Bethesda for clarification.

Adding fuel to the fire, a number of European Reddit users have reported receiving an email from Bethesda teasing a "very special announcement" this Sunday, January 12.

Skyrim launched in November 2011 and went on to win multiple Game of the Year awards. In June 2013, Bethesda released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition. The product features the main game as well as DLC packs Dawnguard, Hearthfire and Dragonborn.

Two months prior to the release of Legendary Edition, Bethesda said the Skyrim development had moved on to its next project after more than 16 months of post-release support for the title.

It would be crazy to see this game on the next gen consoles, the feel of it on the 360 was amazing and with the upgraded graphics and processing power they should be able to do some amazing things, if they actually decide to do this.

The graphics and game play style will be so much better on the xbone. It would be really cool to play it in the new console when it hopefully comes out.

I think that Skyrim would make a great addition to the next-gen consoles. It was, and still is an immensely enjoyable game, there is a vast map and countless quests and tasks to complete. I think that it would be good if they tried to add some new quests and such to the game specially for next-gen consoles as it would make the game even more appealing.

I can imagine the graphics of skyrim on the xbone. This would be really cool to have.

Cyimking I hope that the special announcement is for Fallout instead of Skryim. Yes Skryim is a good game and it will be much better on the next gen... but unless they make a whole new story line with new features, guns , etc... then it's a waste of money. I don't want to replay an old game.

Fallout is kind of the same deal isn't it? Same type of story different area. I like both of the games but if you played Oblivion you would know that Skyrim was a lot different but also quite similar.

This is too good to be true! I literally love this game considering it must be 3 years old the graphics are still amazing on the 360, Imagine it on the next gen consoles??
