Xbox One has sold through over 2 million consoles since it launched 18 days ago, moving 111,111 units per day, according to Microsoft.

Consumers have spent over 83 million hours in games, TV, and apps on Xbox One since the system launched on November 22.

“We continue to be humbled and overwhelmed by the positive response from our fans,” said Yusuf Mehdi, corporate vice president of strategy and marketing, Xbox. “We are thrilled to see sales of Xbox One on a record-setting pace, with over 2 million Xbox One consoles in homes around the world.

“Demand is exceeding supply in our 13 launch markets and Xbox One is sold out at most retailers. We’re also particularly excited to see consumers engaging in a wide range of games and entertainment experiences on the platform, with more than 1 million paid transactions on Xbox Live to date.”

Xbox One users have also unlocked 39 million Achievements and have achieved 595 million in Gamerscore points, according to the figures sent over.

“Demand for next generation gaming continues to be very strong,” said John Love, director of video games at Amazon. “At peak demand, customers were ordering the Xbox One console at over 1000 units per minute on Amazon.com.”

GameStop and Walmart both stated the chains are experiencing “high demand from customers” and that both are working closely with Microsoft to restock supply.

The NPDs are this Thursday, so hopefully we’ll have more solid figures for the US come tomorrow evening.

WeAreAnonym0us "595 million in Gamerscore points" there is a lot of achievements that are stupid and are too easy to get in my opinion.

Yop 83 Million hours? People need to get a hobby.

That's a combined number i'm sure you know that, so how are you doing the math and know that people are playing too much? also, xbox is a hobby. See definition: an activity done regularly in one's leisure time for pleasure.

Tours Guys keep in mind that the PS4 came out a week earlier, so within the same time frame they both had around the same sales, if people are willing to spend the extra $100 then it must be a pretty good console

The Xbox One actually released a few days earlier then the PS4 in European regions

Chicago_Blackhawks That's a saddening number because I believe PS4 sold half that in 24 hours... although that could be because the PS4 is cheaper...

I must say, though

Selling roughly the same as PS4, in slightly less time in slightly more regions (or is it the other way around?) at a higher price, and with all of the changes and bad publicity, is nothing to be sniffed at.

People had PS4 down as a runaway leader, but thats clearly not the case.
