GTA V story DLC inbound in 2014, says Rockstar

Grand Theft Auto 5 players will be treated to "substantial" single-player story expansions in 2014.

Rockstar teased major plans for new content in a recent DLC-focused announcement. "For those ready to jump back into the story of Grand Theft Auto V, we have big plans for substantial additions in 2014 continuing Michael, Franklin and Trevor's action, mayhem and unexpected adventures in Southern San Andreas," it said.

This came along with an update to confirm that co-operative Heists for GTA Online were in development for release next year.

"Heists are currently in development and we are working very hard to get them as polished and as fun as they can be. Stay tuned for much more detail in the New Year," said Rockstar.

The firm will this week launch the Deathmatch & Race Creators Beta for GTA Online, letting players create their own missions in the online portion of the game.

Players will be able to share their creations with others, and the best creations will be highlighted in a selection of 'Rockstar Verified Jobs'.

The beta is "expected" to go live tomorrow, December 10.

A video showing off seemingly leaked content from Grand Theft Auto Online content creator emerged online last week.

December will also see the release of a new competitive team mode, Capture. As Rockstar explains, "A proper GTA twist on classic capture the flag, Capture mode brings territory infiltration and a new form of team-versus-team treachery into GTA Online. Up to four squads battle to steal contraband, trucks, buses or whatever from opponents' bases using high-speed vehicles, explosive weaponry and cunning teamwork.

"Capture is broken down into four variations - 'Raid', 'Contend', 'Hold' and 'GTA'". More details for each are promised soon.

I can see this to be interesting. Not forgetting GTA V has go down hill lately...

It will be interesting considering I decided to kill Trevor instead of the death wish option.

TheOnlyDeagle I just can't see myself playing 360 again since I got my One.

I would gladly buy this game again if it came out on Next-gen.

But this one is actually worth going back to because it just such a fun game and there is a lot to do.

GTA V is one of my primary reasons for sticking with the Xbox 360 for a while. While the online isn't really my thing the single player is a hell of a lot of fun
Same ! i hope they release it soon on the ps4 / Xbox one !

I don't care for this game anymore. DLC or not this isn't going to make me want to play again they are taking their sweet time to release content when Next-Gen games are coming out and the best rockstar has is a Beach bum pack.

Ehhh...seems like too much hassle. And wouldn't there be input lag?

Well it does makes sense there will be, but I wouldn't play CoD on it.
