Call of Duty: Ghosts Xbox One update released, adds "hardcore" option

What with all the upset over Battlefield 4, it's easy to forget that the latest incarnation of the franchise's ancient rival could do with a bit of a tune-up, too. Activision has released a new patch for Call of Duty: Ghosts on Xbox One, which purports to fix a number of crash and networking bugs, and also adds a "hardcore" option to the Domination leaderboards.

The full change notes are below. A few of the fixes also apply to the latest Call of Duty: Ghosts update for Xbox 360. Are you playing Ghosts at the mo? How are you getting on?

Performance
Improved performance issues caused by spamming.

Stability
Fixed issues that would occur after resuming from suspension.

Improved backend multiplayer stability.
Fixed rare crash that could occur when using a guest account.

Fixed issue with calling trinity rocket at exact same moment as an enemy's jammer left the player in laptop view.

Additional fixes
Fixed a variety of map specific spawn issues.
Fixed Blitz freecam bug which caused Ghosts portals to always be blue and Federation orange.
Fixed a freecam bug where the friendly team on the minmap could change color between rounds.
Fixed not showing attachments and weapon camo for players while in private match lobby.
Fixed dog's extended kill not showing properly in final killcam.

Fixed lobby migration closing the create a class screen.
Improved controller pairing functionality.
Added a lock in multiplayer round start/end to prevent game from ending incorrectly.

Added hardcore option for Domination leaderboards.
Fixed overlap bug with the spectated playcard and the spectator map.

Fix to set a default reticle when switching a weapon's sights.

Fixed an FFA specific issue where players didn't spawn into the correct version of Strikezone.

They make so much money already I'm sure they could afford some dedicated servers.

No tried multi-player yet but finished the campaign last night. Enjoyed it, Riley was a nice addition, later on there was a definite nod to Modern Warfare with a Riley focussed Mission that I appreciated. For all the stick it received over the next-gen 'fishes' I thought the underwater mission was pretty cool and had a very 'James Bond' feel to it... as did the Moonraker-eque space battle towards the end.

My only gripe is that there doesn't seem to be the same level of challenge as there used to be. I always play on Veteran (for the Achievements) and apart from maybe one section I pretty much sailed through the whole campaign. Compare that with Call of Duty 2 where I nearly smashed my controller to pieces at several points... So either I'm getting better at gaming, getting too familiar with how a Call of Duty game plays out or they're dumbing down the combat...

Yeah that's what they need. Most games have dedicated serves, don't know what CoD doesn't.

There is no way they fixed this, if anything the spawns are worse if not the same as before.

You can't really fix the spawns that much though, seeing as Ghosts isn't a 3 lane shooter like previous CoD's.
