Battlefield 4 patched for PS3, 'small patch' for PS4

4.6
Battlefield 4 developer DICE has rolled out a pair of patches to PlayStation platforms that should help alleviate the work needed to fix the game. The significant PlayStation 3 patch is currently available in "all territories except North America." The studio is shooting to get the NA version live "as soon as possible."

The PlayStation 4 patch is a field dressing. It fixes the "one-hit kill" bug, enables audio in video capture and should fix a crash that occurs when "having a very large amounts of Friends." Let's gloss over the face that a core competence of Battlefield is supposed to be playing with lots of friends.

DICE notes, "We are already working on the next PS4 update that will contain more fixes and have a bigger focus on game stability. Stay tuned."

The Xbox One patch is still planned for this week.

No. Older games had the same, if not more problems at release. W@W had major problems at release, as did most of the cods.

KAQ Its good that they are patching things quite quickly :) trying to save hastle

Battlefield 1942 had horrid bugs from day one. Took 6-8 patches to get it stable and playable

Battlefield Vietnam had a super unbalanced weaponry, unflyable choppers, and many odd clipping problems. Took 6-8 patches to be stable and playable.

Battlefield 2 was all **** up out of the box with control issues and screwy controls. Took 6-8 patches to be stable and playable.

Battlefield 3 was actually by far one of the smoother launches with little patching outside of some of the server-side issues experienced by trying to join overloaded EA servers. Yet it still took a couple patches to fix as well.

The longer this BF4 mess continues, the more concerned I am about the Titanfall release. I realize Titanfall is supposed to use the Microsoft Cloud Servers and not EA's, but at this point I'm terrified that anything EA has it's dirty hands in will turn to shit. Fingers crossed, I guess.

daRealRush Good thing they sent out the patch, I have been hearing lag issues, and stuff like that on this game!

I haven't ran into any lag issues, only one hit kill and crashing bugs.

I get a fair few lag issues in BF4. Maybe it's due to me living in Australia or something along those lines

I wouldn't know if the lag issues were your internet or the actual game itself.

I would put it on my internet to be honest. I'm currently running at a 200kb/s download which will inevitably lead to some lag issues

It makes sense the one hit kill and crashing bugs are driving me crazy.

Yes since they are still getting used to programming it.
