Microsoft: We are "selling every Xbox One we can make"

4.7
Earlier today, Sony announced that after the launch of the PlayStation 4 in 30 more markets in Europe and Latin America last week, it has now sold over 2.1 million units of the console since it was first released in the U.S and Canada on Nov. 15. However, it appears that Microsoft seems to be more reluctant to offer any updated sales numbers for the Xbox One, which launched in 13 markets on Nov. 22.

Back then, Microsoft said it sold over one million Xbox One units in its first 24 hours. Today, in a statement sent to AllThingsD, Yusuf Mehdi, the Corporate Vice President of Marketing and Strategy for Microsoft's Xbox division, offered this rather vague update on sales of the console:

Eleven days in we are seeing record breaking sales and are selling every Xbox One we can make. Demand is far exceeding supply in the 13 countries we’ve launched and we are sold out at retailers around the world.

Unfortunately, that optimistic statement did not come with a updated sales figure for the Xbox One, as Sony offered today for the PS4. There is evidence from a third party consumer study that the Xbox One outsold the PS4 in the U.S. last week during Black Friday. Hopefully the company will offer some concrete figures on this subject soon.

thee Xbox will always be the better console in my opinion.

-CP It is clearly a better console.

To be honest, and this is just an opinion, saying one of these two consoles is 'better' is like saying the left twix is better than the right twix. PS4 and Xbox One are essentially the same thing with different wrappers so one can't be vastly superior.

Sales do not back you up on that one. It is a good console but better than the PS4 I beg to differ (my opinion)

Cokes I don't know if EVERYONE wants to buy one at this point. Amazon had Xbox's available for over 5 hours after more were in stock. PS4 was sold after 3 minutes of more becoming available.

That doesn't mean anything.
If it does mean anything, it would mean that MS has made more Xbox than Sony has made PS's.

Amazon put the same amount of consoles up for sale at the time. It doesn't matter how many they made, it matters of how many were available for purchase. In this case, the number was the same by Amazon. Clearly shows the PS4 is more favorable right now at this moment. Which in my opinion, is because it is cheaper.

Indeed, one thing I'd like to point out though. Peoples main argument for PS4 > Xbox One is that its cheaper (More powerful doesn't count, barely going to notice it) and I foresee 5 months down the line people would have bought the PS eye or whatever it is for the PS4. That'll add onto the price making the Xbox One actually not more expensive, so if you're planning on buying the PS eye thingy just go with the Xbox One imo
