Sony enables 'What's New' PSN feature on PS4

4.7
Sony Computer Entertainment Europe continues to introduce new PS4 features previously disabled in a bid to facilitate a smooth launch.

The latest feature to be introduced is the 'What's New' feed, which lets users discover and engage with their friends' PS4 related activity.

'Content Information Screen', which enables users to see their friends' activity and information specific to the title they're looking at, will be introduced next.

Despite disabling a number of non-essential features, the European PSN suffered network congestion and slow speeds when PS4 launched last Friday, leaving some users unable to sign-in for extended periods.

Core network stability returned throughout Saturday and Sony has since been rolling out new features and functionality. Voucher redemption continues to be controlled in order to cope with volume.

Worldwide PS4 sales stand at 2.1 million units, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House said on Tuesday morning.

fex Sony really did focus on it being a GAMING console, MS wanted more of a Entertainment sales so they can pitch more advertisements..

This "What's new" feature is about entertainment, not gaming.
So your argument is kinda on the wrong article and goes against Sony almost.

Either way, the Xbox One already has the Activity Feed which shows everything new happening with your friends with what they are playing and new achievements and game clips.

The Xbox 360 has had this implemented on the dashboard for a bit as well.
Nothing new.

You just said what the PS4 has just in a different place. Instead of pressing "play game" over the content, scrolling down to the game's other options allows to see an activity feed in which shows when friends played that game last and what they have done. My feed shows one of my friends defeating "Captain Vor" on Warframe.

Lia It's a pretty small feature but it's still pretty cool.

I hope the Xbox One, integrates a lot of new features.

I'm sure that they will in the future. Hopefully they will be at a high quality when integrated
