PlayStation app delayed in Europe

4.5
The PS4 companion app, while initially due today in Europe, has been pushed back to November 29 – the day of the PS4 launch. Sony needed the extra time to make "some final tweaks to ensure the experience is butter-smooth for you ahead of the PS4 launch next Friday," the company announced on the PlayStation Blog.

The free app, compatible with both iOS and Android devices, integrates with the PS4 by allowing users to browse their friends lists, Trophies, the PSN store and unlock certain second-screen experiences – like extra in-game content or alternative control options. The app went live in the US two days prior to the PS4.

Considering it is an companion app, it is kind of a big deal.
It isn't some third party application.

There seems to be a lot of delays involved in video games recently.

Sweatshirt- That would suck if it was delayed past release date

It is going to be pushed back past release date.

At least the console itself wasn't delayed. I tried out this app and it seemed to run a bit smoother than the Smart Glass app for the Xbox One.

Hopefully Microsoft will make some improvements on the mobile app.

Frog To be honest, I doubt the app will even be used very much. Why will people really need to access their Playstation account when not gaming on the console?

True but it is just another feature that makes the experience better.
