PSN Errors E-80E80034 and NW-31453-6 Encountered by New PS4 Owners

4.6
New PlayStation 4 owners who just bought their console in North America during the special midnight launches are reporting different errors when trying to connect the next-gen console to the PlayStation Network, including codes E-80E80034 and NW-31453-6.

The PS4 is launching as we speak across North America and lots of different stores are organizing midnight launches for the next-gen console.

Now, new owners of the device are trying to connect their console to the PlayStation Network in order to download the required 1.50 firmware update but quite a few are encountering problems with the online service.

More specifically, they're met with error messages containing the codes E-80E80034 and NW-31453-6, which both stop the login process into the PSN.

Sony offers no details about these two errors, according to GameInformer, so it's unclear just why they're happening.

That's what happens when you're an early adopter. Might as well be called a beta tester.

Well its a new console, why are people overreacting? Just wait and return it for a refund or a new one.

This is disappointing, bit of a shame.

explains why all those people were smashing their ps4 as soon as they picked it up lol

Every console has errors, just because it's the first day doesn't mean it's a failure. People are still getting RROD and YLOD and it's been years. These things happen, the only reason why people are talking about it more now is because it's launch day, any other day then it would be just normal. If millions of people bought a particular smartphone on release day you can guarantee there will be some faulty ones, it's inevitable and I'm sure Xbox one will be the same ( especally the Xbox one ). Plus it's a fixable error lmao

-CP This is worse than RRoD because this is with 48 hours of the console release, not 2 years.....

RRoD was hardly fixable, errors are easy to fix.

RRoD was fixed lol just can't accept that the PS4 launch was a failure.

RROD was not fixed... it took years to sort out and MS denied it was a problem until it went public after thousands of cases were reported and it was on TV and the news etc

VPN-V2 Any one else curious if there are going to be flops at the Xbox One launch?

Lmfao all the errors are amazingly funny. I won't be buying either console until, ALL the errors are to a MINIMUM.

Italian What I wonder is how many servers the PlayStaton Network has. The 360 has 15,000. The Xbox One reportedly has 300,000. So how many does the PS4 have

Maybe 50k or 100k at most
