Xbox One can play CDs and is DLNA compatible

4.7
Sony released an extensive FAQ on the upcoming PlayStation 4 earlier this week and it showed that the next generation game console won't be able to play any CDs. The PS4 also won't support streaming content from a DLNA enabled device. These are features that are supported with Sony's current PS3 console.

Now the Penny Arcade Report has confirmed, via a Microsoft statement, that the company's Xbox One console will in fact play audio CDs and will be DLNA compatible. The story adds that the DLNA support for the console is still in the process of being certified. You may remember that Microsoft had previously confirmed that the Xbox One would not serve as a native Windows Media Center Extender, but the news that it will support DLNA does mean that the console will be able to stream content from other DLNA devices.

The PS4 FAQ also said that the console won't support the playback of MP3 files. Microsoft apparently won't allow Xbox One owners to import MP3 files directly to the console, but it will support streaming of music files from Play To devices like a Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 PC.

dudeyd awkward moment when even though xbox users can play cds, ps4 users get our first year of digital music free and also we don't have to pay for Netflix due to the partnership sony have with them and oh..... thought id also include that you HAVE to have gold membership just to record your gameplay.

lol.

The Awkward momment when the xbox looks like a smart, Shiney, sleak bit of kit whereas the ps4 looks like a block of flats from the 1970s

that awkward moment when you realize what the console looks like has nothing to do with how the game performs; and you realize that the ps4 is more powerful in all ways as far as gaming goes.

This is for Xbox users if you don't like Xbox go to the PlaysSation or PC forums, stop hating, Xbox has way more to it and PS4 is not more powerful, Xbox can update anything through cloud, Microsoft makes computers they know what to put in a console, Sony makes tv's and cameras they dont know anything, now grow up you Sony fanboys

Here's me thinking Microsoft made the OS and not the actual computers...and as for knowing what to put in a console.. a "good" game for launch would help for one and a console that doesn't break down within months with RROD and btw PS4 is slightly more powerful but it all depends how they use that extra power. It's all down to the games in the end and it looks like PS4 has a slightly btter launch line up but obviously things can change.I'll very likely own both as i like the console exclusive games like Gears of War for XBOX,Killzone on PS and Mario Kart for Wii U etc I wouldn't exactly say any console is "better"?,it's hard to say overall as each does what it does in it's own way and the more variety /competition is better for everyone.
