PlayStation Store now supports PayPal funding on PS3

Sony has expanded its PlayStation Store payment options on the PlayStation 3, allowing users to fund Sony Entertainment Network purchases via PayPal's online money transfer service.

PayPal support was introduced for Sony's Entertainment Network website back in January, and mobile PayPal funding was later made possible with the Mobile Billing option. Up until this week, however, users accessing the PlayStation Network via the PlayStation 3 were only able to add funds using a credit card or prepaid voucher.

A firmware update for the Xbox 360 added PayPal as a billing option in 2011.

Axe I really like this idea, but unfortunatly Im not getting the PS4.

This article doesn't have much to do with the PS4 really. It's all about the PS3. Xbox has been doing this for a long time regardless so Sony is a bit behind in that aspect
This section of the news isn't PS4 only. It's also for the PS3 is if didn't notice...

It's for all PlayStation Platforms, including their portable gaming devices (despite there not being much news for them these days)

I was expecting them to already have it when i tried to purchase something from the PlayStation store a year or so back. Well it's good to see that they have finally done it anyway

LaserShow You can't make a direct purchase from Paypal in PSN. You have a wallet that has funds that can come from a Paypal account. Both have wonky ways to buy things as it requires funds from a party to be deposited into a PSN or Live account. Xbox removed the middle man and you can make direct purchases from Paypal. Pretty much means your still in the back of the line whe it comes to paypal usage

I agree. Regardless of adding this now they still haven't added the full thing...
