Ongoing bugs prevent free in-game cash distribution until next week

Rockstar has delayed plans to distribute the first half of the $500,000 of in-game cash promised to GTA Online players this week.

The so-called 'Stimulus Package' was promised to users as compensation for the issues that have plagued the online game since its launch on October 1.

The firm had previously announced plans to distribute $250,000 in game cash to players this week (ending Friday, October 25), but this has been delayed owing to ongoing bugs still plaguing the multiplayer mode.

"We of course want to ensure that game progress loss issues are sufficiently sorted before distributing the GTA$ to everyone," said Rockstar in a statement today.

"We have a few more tweaks and fixes to make in a new title update that will hit sometime next week and then we will distribute the cash," it added.

Despite the fact I've had a ton of fun playing GTA Online and GTA V I think Rockstar's handling of things post launch has been a little shoddy, their response to people who had lost characters or data after the latest patch was a copy and paste email telling them to download the latest patch.

I've basically just gotten to the point where if GTA Online gives out a date I expect it to not be released then.

JimboSlice This is getting ridiculous! I mean it's been over a month of the release with a bunch of delays before the game was out. There shouldn't be so much bugs and delays.


I agree with you, but I'm sure none of this was expected.
The problems aren't major. Surely they could have fixed the damn game in a month! Looks like they're sitting back and relaxing now they've cashed in the billions...

Obviously it's still a great game, just needs a few things fixed and it will be perfect.
