2DS down to £99 at some UK retailers

Nintendo's brand-new 2DS handheld, which launched alongside Pokemon X/Y earlier this month, is already about £10 cheaper at certain retailers in the United Kingdom. Originally priced at £109.99, the svelte little device can now be had online for £99 from Amazon UK and Tesco Direct.

A couple of brick and mortar installations are also on the discount train, with Sainsbury's matching Amazon's price drop and Argos running its own £99 bundle promotion from tomorrow through October 26, MCVUK reports.

It's important to note that this is not an official price drop from Nintendo, but rather a bunch of British retailers taking a proactive stance on pricing ahead of the imminent holiday shopping season. Regardless, £10 works out to about $400,000 at today's imaginary exchange rates, so it's still worth doing.

Alright, lets get some facts out here buddy.
First, "Wii" is not a company, it is a product manufactured by Nintendo.
Second, the Wii has more sales than the PS3 or Xbox360. Wii (100.3 mil) PS3 (80.1 mil) and Xbox360 (79.2 mil)
I hardly think Nintendo is suffering hard to remain a company seeing as they still hold many records and have the WiiU (and hand-held devices) which is producing tons of sales too.


Lets not forget that the 3DS is doing very well on the market at the moment, being the most popular handheld of this generation by a long shot. I

Foolish Makes sense that the 2DS's price was lowered as not that many people are buying them.


There main marketing point is having a low price. I could see them selling pretty well come December

I know many people have mocked the 2DS but i feel like it will sell like hotcakes this Christmas. I think the price point of 129.99 is very appealing and would not be surprised to see more deals like this before the holidays.

I'm actually surprised to see that many people are coming around to the idea of purchasing a 2DS. I didn't think it would go very well in the market at all when it was first released.
