DualShock 4 controllers work with PS3

4.4
PlayStation 4 controllers are backwards-compatible with the PS3, according to a video which you can check out below.

It won’t work wirelessly, and the PS button is missing, but it’s still kind of interesting. DualShock 4 is also compatible with PC.

The PlayStation 4 launches in North America on November 15 in Europe and selected other territories on November 29.

Aggie This is damn cool. I wish that the Xbox One controller would work with the 360. But that is just a dream.

I'm happy they didn't, I mean its called a NEXT GEN console for a reason. The older console shouldn't experience it's features.

That's pretty cool, now the poor fans can just buy a controller to enjoy the "next gen" feel. Lmao

-CP This does not come as a surprise to me.

It should.
Normally a different consoles controller wouldn't work on a new console.

No matter the brand.

I think this is definatley a good idea personally I hate that it's not wireless but even wired is ok enough for me to use the PS4 controller on the PS3.

Now this is something that i want to hear. It's great to know that i don't need to switch back to the old controller when using my PS3. While some people may see it as insignificant i think it's great for comfort and efficiency reasons

Who would do this and not just use there ps4?
Won't you have to kind of need to adapt to the new look and can't use the touchscreen or settings on the controller?
