Call of Duty: Ghosts PC install is 50GB

4.4
Call of Duty: Ghosts will take up a whopping 50GB of drive space when installed on your PC, blocking installation of other games by the sheer weight of its many assets.

For comparison purposes, BioShock Infinite takes up 20GB minimum with 30GB recommended, Saints Row 4 is 10GB, and Battlefield 4 wants 30GB.

The hefty install size was revealed in the shooter’s PC requirements, which also include a surprisingly high-end minimum GPU. Here’s the full spec list, courtesy of Nvidia:

Minimum System Requirements
OS: Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better
RAM: 6 GB RAM
HDD: 50 GB HD space
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti / ATI Radeon HD 5870 or better
Sound: DirectX Compatible Sound Card
DirectX: 11
Internet: Broadband connection and service required for Multiplayer Connectivity. Internet connection required for activation.

No word yet on how large the download will be for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions, but it’s likely to be in the same ballpark. Ghosts is also coming to Wii U. Current-gen versions arrive on November 5, with next-gen versions due when the hardware launches later in the month.

daRealRush 50GB of Space! How is it 50GB of Space, it is a very small game. It has very few guns, along with very small maps! How is it, 50GB of space?

How do you know the maps are small and it doesnt have a lot of guns? Do you actually understand ANY game development/computer science theory?

Actually he's right, and your wrong. Stop trying to sound smart as there is no "theory." I know the reason its 50GB's, but I'm not going to say it just so you can pretend to know what your talking about. Find out, then come back to talk bro.

I have reason to suspect that all DLC is preloaded and you pay to 'unlock' it. Because, truly. There is no reason for it to be 50 gigs unless they did some major optimization for PC. Which if that is the case, bravo. But I highly doubt it.

I'm pretty sure I read that it is using 4k resolution, which would explain the massive size.

4K? You need a really high end system to run that and a monitor that costs $3,500. If that is the case, it seems like a waste of money considering the small amount of players they'll be reaching. It doesn't seem ideal. And if anything, they should make the 4K textures a DLC, like what they did with BF3 and the high def textures. No reason to make it a mandatory 50 gig install for something a small amount of players will use.

Are you all retarded? The data could be focusing on the dynamic map structure that CoD have never really practised before, their ai technology, not to mention all of the new skins, sounds, movement techniques, custimizations for things such as dogs and women. 50GB is understandable, DLC wouldn't be pre-loaded, otherwise players would easily be abke to unlock the rights to using it. It wouldn't be 4K resolution, because unless you have a monitor that displays at 4000 pixels in length, it would be pointless, despite it would make for some better depth of field settings and you'll most likely be able to see further, clearer.

So... this doesn't make any sense to me. Im no PC gamer, but 50 GB seems like alot for a game like COD. Unless the PC version is legendary, then they need to work on their programming skills.

-Skillz Not getting this for PC lol

I probably will get it for PC cuz i think PC gaming is completely different from console just my option though.

6 GB RAM, GTX 550 Ti for minimal specs? Takes up 50 GB? Which idiot came up with that idea?
