GTA V records biggest launch in UK history

Grand Theft Auto V has claimed the record as the biggest UK video game launch in history.

Rockstar's latest title, which launched globally on September 17, managed to sell around 1.57 million units in its first day on sale, pulling in around £65 million, according to Chart Track figures.

How these figures break down by platform went unspecified.

That smashes the previous record held by Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops, which managed 1.41 million units sold and around £58 million in its launch day, November 9, 2010.

GTA being made like this just makes the competition bar that much higher, companies are going to need to step there game up if they want to come close to what Rockstar has created here.

Last year Black Ops 2 was the biggest launch in the UK.

As I've said before, GTA will be the only game that will outsell CoD for while. Just like GTA 4 did with WaW.
